On Friday, May 3, at 7pm, two of Camrose's own choirs will join forces to present "The Power of Song: music that can inspire and change us".

Camrose Camerata and the Camrose and Area Children's Choirs will jointly present this moving and compelling concert of music celebrating the power of music in our lives. Ranging from inspirational pieces to songs that make you want to get up and dance, this performance of music of multiple styles and eras is sure to please.

Members of the Camrose and Area Children's Choirs come from communities all around the greater Camrose region. Our choirs are composed of three ensembles, and singers range in age from 6 to 16. These dedicated choristers have been learning about music and performance throughout this concert season, having performed in our annual Lessons and Carols in December, our dessert concert fundraiser "To the Movies" in February, and most recently in the Camrose and District Music Festival. Including both non-auditioned as well as auditioned singers, our choirs strive for a high level of musicianship while having fun and learning inspiring and challenging music.

Camrose Camerata is an auditioned adult chamber choir, whose members sing at an advanced level and create beautiful music, as witnessed by our recent accolades at the Camrose and District Music Festival Community Music night. Camerata is heading into their tenth season next year (2013-2014), and is thrilled to be planning for some extra special concerts to mark this auspicious anniversary. Members of Camerata also come from both Camrose and surrounding communities, and have been preparing "The Power of Song" since our February 3 concert "Stories in Song".
