Library continuing Technology Tutoring programs

This spring, the library is continuing our Technology Tutoring program for adults, covering topics like social media, cloud storage and online library services. Technology Tutoring is a free class that runs every Thursday morning at the library. The class runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m., with a drop-in hour for help and extra practice from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants should bring their own device and any necessary passwords. New topics are covered every week. Our upcoming schedule is:
March 8: Intro to Social Media
In this introduction to social media, learn about different popular platforms, why youth (and seniors) are using social media more for communication and news, as well as commonly used terms on social media.
March 15: Intro to Facebook
This class will focus on navigating and using Facebook. Whether you have Facebook or are debating creating (or deleting) your account, this class will cover the basics of Facebook, including browsing your Newsfeed, how to use Messenger and how to update your profile.
March 22: Facebook Privacy and Security Settings
A continuation of the March 15 class, we will look at the privacy and security settings available to you on Facebook. Learn how to manage your privacy on Facebook and ensure that information you share is only visible to those you select and that you only see posts from friends you want to engage with!
March 29: Using Cloud Technology: Introduction to Cloud Storage Services
Join us for an overview of popular, free online cloud-based storage and applications. In this class you will learn what cloud storage is and pros and cons of each service.
April 5: Intro to Google Drive
Learn how to use Google Drive to share, shave and manage documents and information. Please bring you Gmail email address and password.
April 12: Online Library Services 1: Searching and Requesting Books Online
The first of two classes, learn who to request books online and join us for an overview of li brary apps that allow you to borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks on your device. Please bring your library card and PIN and any device you would like to access books on.
April 19: Online Library Services 2: How to Borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks
A continuation of the April 12 class, learn how to download and navigate CloudLibrary (eBooks) and RB Digital (eAudiobooks). Please bring your library card and PIN and any device you would like to access books on.

The library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The library is closed all weekend days of statutory holidays.
