Peewee AAA Cougars roar through weekend
The Camrose Peewee AAA Cougars won all three games they played at home this past weekend.
In a pair of games on Saturday, the Cougars put up a combined 41 runs, beating the Parkland Twins 24-2 and the Calgary Cubs 17-8. On Sunday, Camrose beat the St. Albert Cardinals 21-19 to improve to 9-7 in regular season play.
In the first game of the double header on Saturday, the Cougars drove home 16 runs in the second inning alone. Max Logelin, Hogan Jacobsen, and Dylan Soch all had three at bats in the inning.
The game against Calgary was worth four points due to a rain out and there was no other time to do a makeup game. Camrose managed to snag the all-important four points in a 17-8 win. Gavin Galenza pitched 3 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and only allowed two runs, he also hit a home run.
On Sunday, Camrose capped off a perfect weekend with a high scoring game against St. Albert. Jacobsen and Galenza both homered, Galenza managed to hit a moon shot in all three games on the weekend.
The results for Wednesday’s game at 7 p.m. against Sherwood Park were unavailable at press time. The Cougars will be in Edmonton on July 15 at 3 p.m. for a game against South Jasper Place and will go to Spruce Grove to play the Calgary Cubs on July 16 at 3 p.m.
