The best major bantam AA hockey has to offer in Alberta are sharpening their skates and getting set to hit the ice in Camrose.

The Camrose Bulldogs are the host team in the Hockey Alberta bantam AA major provincials March 17 to 20 at the Edgeworth Centre.

The teams are set as Camrose is the host squad. The Wainwright Polar Kings will represent zone 7; of which Camrose is a part. As host, Camrose had its spot at provincials secured no matter what, but did make it to the zone final against Wainwright, losing to the Polar Kings.

The Cold Lake Freeze, St. Albert Blues, Innisfail Flyers, Grand Praire Storm, Foothills Bisons, Cochrane Bow Valley Timberwolves, Calgary Royals Blue and CAC Real Estate Weekly round out the squads in the tournament.

Although the opening ceremonies March 17 at 8:15 p.m. at the EnCana Arena are the official kickoff to the tournament, games start well before that.

The Bulldogs start the action against the Innisfail Flyers at 3 p.m. at the EnCana Arena, while two other matchups will be held at the same time in the Border Paving and Max McLean arenas.

"We are grateful for the community and our sponsors which have really come together in support of this provincial tournament," said committee co-chairman committee Curtis Zablocki.

In other provincial action, the Bashaw Stars represent Zone 7 at the Atom C provincials March 17 to 20 in Beaverlodge.

Bashaw opens its action in the round robin against the host Beaverlodge Stars at 10:10 a.m. at the Beaverlodge Arena.

The Camrose Border Paving Drillers are gearing up for their shot at a provincial title as the Driller are in the Hockey Alberta peewee A provincials March 25 to 27.
